This exhibition at The Mayor Gallery, which ran from 1-28 April 2011, coincided with the Royal Academy exhibition ‘Ivor Abrahams: Mystery and Imagination’ (30 March-22 May 2011),  featuring 20 prints by the artist, influenced by the work of Edgar Allen Poe.

The title of this exhibition, ‘Suburban Encounters’ encompasses the theme of most of Abrahams’ recent work. Gardens, shrubbery, owls, totems, cityscapes, seascapes and landscapes are repeated motifs, which directly incorporate imagery and icons taken from the environment that surrounds him.
