By Leafy Ways
7 February-3 May 2008
The Henry Moore Institute, Leeds
This exhibition of work from the early 1970s addresses one of Abrahams’ oft-repeated motifs; that of the suburban garden. The works featured were acquired by Leeds Museums and Galleries prior to the exhibition, and included collages, reliefs, prints and maquettes of hedgerows, shrubbery, walls and other garden motifs.
There is an accompanying essay available for the exhibition, entitled ‘By Leafy Ways: Early Works by Ivor Abrahams’ by Sophie Raikes, Assistant Curator of Sculpture for Leeds Galleries and Museums, which is available for £2.00 from The Henry Moore Institute website.
